چکیده
The general evolution kernels of the twist 2 light–ray operators for unpolarized and polarized deep inelastic scattering are calculated inO(αs). From these evolution kernels a series of special evolution equations can be derived, among them the Altarelli-Parisi equations and the evolution equation for the meson wave function. In the case of twist 3 the results of Balitzki and Braun are confirmed. INTRODUCTION The study of the Compton amplitude for scattering of a virtual photon off a hadron is one of the basic tools in QCD to understand the short–distance behavior of the theory. The Compton amplitude for the general case of non– forward scattering is given by Tμν(p+, p−, Q) = i ∫ dxe〈p2|T (Jμ(x/2)Jν(−x/2))|p1〉, (1) where p+ = p2 + p1, p− = p2 − p1 = q1 − q2 and q = (q1 + q2)/2. The time– ordered product in eq. (1) can be represented in terms of the operator product expansion. Here we use the representation derived in ref. [1,2] T (Jμ(x/2)Jν(−x/2)) ≈ ∫ +∞

We have obtained a general solution of evolution equations for QCD twist-2 string operators in form of expansion over complete set of orthogonal eigenfunctions of evolution kernels in coordinate-space representation. In the leading logarithmic approximation the eigenfunctions can be determined using constraints imposed by conformal symmetry. Explicit formulae for the LO scale-dependence of quar...

We provide a complete set of supersymmetric constraints for the anomalous dimensions of the conformal twist-two operators to all orders of perturbation theory. Employing them we derive new relations between the exclusive evolution kernels and apply them in QCD in order to get definite predictions at leading order and beyond.

We review the nucleon’s twist-3 polarized structure functions from the viewpoint of gauge invariant, nonlocal light-cone operators in QCD. We discuss a systematic treatment of the polarized structure functions and the corresponding parton distribution functions. We emphasize unique features of higher twist distributions, and the role of the QCD equations of motion to derive their anomalous dime...

We review the possibility to use the renormalons emerging in the perturbation series of the twist-2 part of the nonsinglet structure functions F L , F 2 , F 3 , and g 1 to make approximate predictions for the magnitude of the appertaining twist-4 corrections.
